ABOUT THE ROLE
The STEAM Teaching Assistant (Part-Time) works side-by-side with STEAM Instructors and Education Head to support teaching delivery, facilitate interactive student activities, and ensure flawless classroom operations. The position plays a key role in boosting students’ problem-solving skills, maintaining a safe learning space, and ensuring session readiness.
Specific shift schedules and course assignments are organized on a term/semester basis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CLASSROOM & STUDENT SUPPORT:
Support in-class activities, practical sessions, and group work under the direction of the Lead Instructor.
Reinforce key lesson concepts by reviewing materials with individual students or small groups needing extra guidance.
Proactively encourage positive student behavior, focus, and active participation during sessions.
Co-facilitate breakout groups and independently lead small-size classes as competency sign-offs are earned.
MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT & CLASS OPERATIONS:
Meticulously audit, prepare, and set up all learning tools, kits, and digital resources prior to class start.
Assist in managing material distribution during activities to maintain seamless lesson momentum.
Clean, inventory, pack away, and account for all physical equipment immediately post-class, reporting any missing or damaged items.
COMMUNICATION & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:
Maintain clear, real-time communication with instructors regarding student progress, engagement, and operational needs.
Present a warm, highly professional demeanor when interacting with parents during student arrival and departure transitions.
Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and adhere strictly to shift schedules.
SAFEGUARDING, CONFIDENTIALITY & SAFETY:
Actively supervise student arrival, break times, and dismissal to guarantee student physical safety at all times.
Uphold strict confidentiality regarding student personal details, academic performance, and family data.
Strictly follow all organizational health, safety, and incident-reporting protocols.
OUR REQUIREMENTS
MUST-HAVES (NON-NEGOTIABLES)
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a classroom, after-school or camp environment.
Language Proficiency: Strong English proficiency (IELTS 6.0+ or equivalent) and local language capability to communicate effectively with students and lead instructors.
Safeguarding & Safety: Must complete our child protection training, follow line-of-sight safety procedures, and pass our mandatory safety assessment during onboarding.
Classroom Management & Engagement: Proactive support to maintain student focus, encourage positive behavior, manage group transitions, and assist struggling learners.
Digital & STEAM Literacy: Ability to seamlessly run classroom audio-visual tools, connect and troubleshoot hardware/sensors, and support students using digital media and coding software.
NICE-TO-HAVES (PREFERABLES)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (candidates actively pursuing a relevant degree will also be considered).
Specialized STEAM Tools: Hands-on experience with specific robotics, block-coding (e.g., Tynker, LEGO Education, Microbit, Roblox, Minecraft Edu), or lab equipment.

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of academic year, STEAM Teaching Assistant - Weekday Availability typically works between 4-28 hours per week.
